EDINBURGH Day 1-5

Hi all! I've been super busy the past week and therefore the lack of more posts. So here comes a big one summarizing the past few days :)

The 3 first days were hectic therefore I didn't have the time to take any pictures.

Thursday 30/08

Mum and I arrived at my new apartment around 21:00. We were tired and extremely hungry so we went to the nearest restaurant to eat something. After a lovely italian dinner we went to bed, knowing that we would need as much rest as possible...

Friday 31/08

This day can be described with just one word: CLEANING!
Mum and cleaned the whole apartment from approx. 10 am - 6 pm!!! I love this old apartment (pictures coming later) but nevertheless it is English standard and a lot of dirt has assembled here over the years.  Now it's clean and it's actually really cozy in here :)

In the evening Dad came directly from Stockholm and we had prepared a nice dinner for him: Tomatosoup and loads of lovely cheese :)

OK, I'll give you one picture from the kitchen

This is my view, The Castle of Edinburgh :)

Saturday 01/09

In the morning dad and I went to pick up a car because we had big plans today...(drumroll)...IKEA!!!
My room isn't furnished so there was loads of stuff we needed. After a big detour we finally found IKEA (and Dad, you're awesome at driving on the left side!) Not so much to say about IKEA, it looks the same all over the world and I got everything I needed. Though we had to drive to the apt. twice, frist time with my bed and second time with the rest of the yunk I needed. Let me just say, my room is super duper cozy!

In the evening we went to a nice restaurant were we ate AMAZING food! As a starter I had the "Aubergine Tower", Main: Seabass with citrusrisotto and a yummy sauce and as Dessert: Sticky Toffee  Cake and Coffee. Sounds delicious right?

Sunday 02/08
Dad had to leave us in the morning :(  Thank you amazing Daddy for coming all the way here just to help your daughter <3

After saying goodbye to Dad, Mum and I went to a nice café and took a coffee and scone

Then we walked around for several hours in the city center just enjoying the city and the sun.

We went up on a hill were they had a few monuments and an amazing view! The monument to the left the Scottish Sate built in honor of those Scottish soliders who dried in the Boer War. It was meant to look like to Acropolis in Athens but the State ran out of money so it was never finished. The building to the right is the City Observatory.

I wouldn't mind taking a picnic here!

View over the city and the mountain is called Arthur's Seat.

After a lovely day and a long walk we sat down in the sun and took a drink.

Monday 03/09

Yesterday we decided to walk up to Arthur's Seat. It was a tough walk but so worth it, it was so beautiful! I'll let the pictures do the talking. :)

You always see funny stuff around here :D

The top to the right, Arthur's Seat, that's where were going...

Just a little bit further..

Yes! We Made It!!

Loads of people we running to the top and back down, impressive!

I mean come on, it's ridiculous how pretty this is!

Lunch at my new favorite place! Just outside my apt!

In the evening Mum and I went to Jamie's Italian and it was just as delicious, cozy and cool as you might expect it to be. Unfortunately it was too dark in there to be able to take any good pictures but friends and family, I'll promise that it's worth every penny!

Tuesday 04/09

Mum left a few hours ago. It feels a bit empty in the apartment but no worries, my lovely flatmate Inka is coming tomorrow evening so I won't we be myself for too long. I have quite a few important things to do today: washing, shoping and unpacking my bags-haven't had the time to do it yet! Then if I will go out and enjoy the sun :)

I'll be seeing you!
